DeAnn Jordan earned a B.A. from San Francisco State University, an M.A. from California State University, Northridge in English and Creative Writing, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing in poetry and fiction from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and began her Ph.D. in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is currently working toward an M.A./PhD at the California Institute of Integral Studies in Women’s Spirituality and Social Justice.

Ms. Jordan has published two books of poetry: Whispers from the Seaweed and Deadly Birds of the Soul, from Cherry Grove Collections. Her work has been published in many literary journals, including The Northridge Review, Shadowplay, and The California Quarterly. She has been a featured poet at many readings and was a finalist for the California Young Playwrights Project and the Ben Saltman Poetry Prize. She is also the author of Absolute A.I.: The Evolution of the Human Experience Through Artificial Intelligence. She is currently working on another poetry collection, a collection of short stories, a novel, and a multi-genre memoir detailing her life living with CPTSD and Dissociative Identity Disorder, The Hands of Ghosts.

Ms. Jordan has taught English, Creative Writing, Literature, Mythology, and Humanities for nearly twenty years at various colleges in the Los Angeles area and online, and is currently an English professor at California State University, Northridge.
