I am happy you have found your way here. My own journey has taken me far — as a writer I have explored some regions of this world and the otherworld, to the inner and outer regions of perception. Margaret Atwood asks in, Negotiating With the Dead, “Who makes the trip to the underworld?” Her answer: writers and poets, especially. The poet Rilke captures this idea that poets “can bring the knowledge held by the Underworld back to the land of the living” to share it with their readers, in his Sonnet 9 to Orpheus:
You have to have been among the shades,
tuning your lyre there too,
if you want vision enough to know
how to make lasting praise.
You have to sit down and eat
with the dead, sharing their poppies,
if you want enough memory to keep
the one most delicate note…
It has always been my calling, my compulsion, my fondest dream to dig deep to discover what lies beneath, and then to bring it into the open. Such personal revelations, it is my most sincere hope, will be a connective thread between us. Please wander through my pages! All the best on your way.
